Sketchy Jem??

Ok, not sure on this one. Zero feedback too, but check this out on evilbay 7376030319

The body looks ok, but the fretboard appears to be darker on the frets with inlays.

Legit or sh*t??

I must say, if the frets were factory quality that'd be a pretty cool jem.

Actually, looking at it I believe the guys story. The handle grip on knock off jems doesn't normally have that cut on the back of the handle. Free advertising there I guess!
Hey guys
Remember the ****ers:

thinlizzy!! - Antoniojem - klbcustoms777 ???
and more recently davetheceiling (his fathers account) whom sold the 'original' PBK and turned out to have a dodgy neck.
Well youve just found his new user ID !!

I was personally ripped off by him in his klbcustom777 days, and after a boat load of other evidence turned up from fellow Jemsiters, he was then linked with his previous ID's.
I then found him selling the item i had won under the ID of davetheceiling, he was arrested and got off with a caution on the grounds he never used the bay again (naughty lad).............. so tread carefully guys!!!!!!!
I got my dosh back though!! ;-)

Another Jemsiter has positive proof that this is the same guy.

I'm one of the other jemsiters who has positive proof of this guys usernames etc.

I'm also the guy who bought the Jem7PBK with the fake neck mentioned above!!!

Just avoid this seller full stop.

Two of the items he has listed recently, namely a Carvin head and a Euphoria were offered to me as part of a refund on the PBK....oh yeah, like i was going to except more stuff from the [email protected]

This guy is too thick to make a decent conman, although i was had to be fair......once bitten, twice shy.......i will personally be scanning all ads on evilbay to ensure that nobody else gets stung like i did.

It's not so bad for people like me, because i can earn quite a bit of money in a short space of time at work......but i would be gutted if i'd saved up for months, only to find i'd bought a ringer and it's this type of person that i really feel for.......and i'll be doing all i can to stop any people getting ripped, rest assured !!

People like this need sorting....and it will be sorted by fair means or foul !!!!

This is really surreal stuff, I just found out snakeman sold me a my first jem! lol been a while since then. I too had contact with davetheceiling not long ago, I'll post the rest tomorrow.

Got to go, f*ck me, it's good to know people have your back at times.

Thanks guys!
those scallops are in serious need of a sanding, and I think the spaces with the inlays are darker cause someones afraid of damaging them while cleaning. My 0.02, I am by no means a Jem expert, but I know a ****ty scallop when i see one lol
Just a quick word about Ibanez249

As he mentioned above, it just so happens that i sold him his first ever Jem...a seamless transaction on evilbay, nice guy and very trustworthy...talk about a small world LOL.

I regretted selling him that Jem555 as soon as it had gone as i knew i'd miss it....wasn't expecting to meet up again in this way, but glad we did.

The fact that i've inadvertently managed to stop a previous buyer getting ripped off makes this post that much sweeter for me :)

Stay safe people,

The Zero feedback would be enough to scare me away...not to mention our fellow Jemsters comments!
Awesome stuff.

Anyway, more on this train of coincedence...

I bought a 7VWH off a guy on **** that just so happened to turn out to be Jemsite member Ross. The guitar had the neck sanded to make it super-fast which in turn took off the serial number. I went to sell the guitar on to raise fund for a car when I pass my test. So this davetheceiling fella keeps contacting me saying that he'll swap it for a mint Gibson Les Paul Premium and that it was because he always wanted a jem that he didn't mind losing out. I declined because I wanted cash (probably the smart thing to do, knowing him it was probably an Epiphone with a Gibson decal, or a Studio) So I put the guitar on auction and it didn't sell at the price I put it at. He e-mails me saying he'll give me cash but for much less and that I should ring because he didn't want to do it via e-mail (this wasn't the first time, very suspiscious.) I ended up selling to a really top bloke for the same amount that I bought, it for which was a bonus.

Now this brings me to a problem I'm having with another seller, blue_powder_86, has anyone dealt with this guy?

Basically I bought a Jem555 from him because he claimed that he had a luthier professionally install an original Edge trem and that it was mint. I received the guitar that had an Edge Pro II hanging on to the body for dear life and on further inspection, realised that the body was cracked inside severely and it would cost me a ****load to repair it. I told him I wanted I refund which he agreed on (damn right!) but he could only afford £250 of the £450 that I paid for it until I send back the guitar and he can sell it on. I said OK but to MAKE SURE to part the guitar out or to sell it as faulty and describe the damage, to which he agrees. He then sells the guitar without mentioning the damage to some guy that bought it for his kid. Then blue_powder_86 decides he doesn't want to speak anymore and has stopped contacting me. **** are investigating and the police are set to get involved, not to mention this kid's dad (nothing as furious as an angry dad! )

So yeah, any idea what the score is with this seller? same guy? or random butthole?

This just gets more and more surreal, goes to show what a small place the internet is!

Good stuff.

I recommended to Glen (jemsite) that we got a "Wall of Shame" sticky at the top of these threads where we can just put a sellers name and then maybe an item number next to it. I know there is something similar up there but this would be easy for reference and to help cover ourselves further in the future.

Anyone else think it'd be a good idea?

Yup. Easier to know which trader to avoid.
Great idea!!

Have ya got a page big enough LOL
I'll try to get a wall of shame thread posted. Even if it gets bloated & cluttered you can use the "search this thread" tool to search an auction ID before bidding... glen
Cool stuff, thanks Glen :)
Hi All,
Great idea about the Wall Of Shame :)

Just wanted to clear up any possible confusion that may arise from some of the posts above from Ibanez249:

The damaged Jem555 that he is referring to with the Edge Pro II hanging on the body etc...this is not the one that i sold him as i'm sure he will confirm for everybody.
The one he had from me really was in mint condition and one of the finest guitars i've ever owned...i've regeretted selling it ever since :-(

I'd hate for somebody to speed read through the above posts and accidently link me with the other dodgy seller...i'm anything but :)

Thought i'd mention it just in case...Ibanez249 Help, don't want my reputation ruined, i've only just got back on here LOL
