I have a s470dx which i rather find the neck too wide compare to my warmoth neck (wide not thickness). Is all wizard, super wizard, wizard 2 that wide? Im thinking of getting a new better axe, but i could't try it out as im ordering online. How about js1200? Im thinking of that

The JS neck is narrower, at 42mm (vs. 43mm on the wizard variants). But there are other differences, too - rounder radius, smaller frets, etc. It's a fine neck, but make sure it feels good in your hand.

You might want to look for a used "ultra" neck - bigger frets, thicker than a wizard (but not much), and 42mm wide at nut. Be sure it's an AANJ (assuming your 470 is) - most ultras weren't...

actually i dun mind having a thicker or thinner neck. But i really find wizard II neck dam wide, its even wider than my les paul 0.0 so does super wizard and wizard II have the same wideness?

yup. super wizard, original wizard and wizard 2 all have the same width of 43 mm. you find it too wide? haha fair enough i suppose it is pretty wide. you'd hate my Wizard-7 then!

i dont know but i rem hearing it somewhere that they said "shreding" necks are meant to be wide and flat. You guys dont feel it wide? Maybe my fingers are short, normally i measure the neck width by trying to fret 12-15th on low e string. On les paul and wizard II neck, i need to stress a little on my pinky, where one my warmoth i barely need to stress anyone of them maybe i should get a warmoth one again, but 1.5k i dont think its enough although

Unless the 42mm erred small & the 43mm erred big. It's about the difference between 1 5/8" and 1 11/16". I feel a little cramped on the typical 1 5/8" neck, and prefer 1 11/16", but since I don't have 2 necks that are the same except for that dimension, it's hard to say.

Maybe* manufacturing tolerances might link to a even greater difference. Lets say wizard neck with the max width in factory will be 42 strictly, and anithing lower can be tolerate and anything higher will not be. So that will be a 40 - 41mm, where as wizard II neck have a min width of 43 and anithing higher than that can be tolerate and anything lower will not be, and that will be a 44-45mm. The differences can be around 5mm.

I doubt the manufacturing tolerances are anywhrere near that wide. because the nut is metal and would be the exact (or very close to) width of 43mm for wizard, super wizard and wizard II. therefore the neck has to be very accurate too as the nut wont fit properly, and it would look awful if the nut was wider or narrower than the neck. also the heel width would have to be pretty accurate as well to fit in the neck joint. also dont forget the bodys and neck are cut by an CNC machine which cuts to exact (probably down to microns thick) measurements. Ibanez necks are very consistiant in width and any differnce between one orignal wiazird and another would be minimal and unnoticible
