Hey guys I’m starting to look at picking up another ibanez and was hoping for some help.

First and foremost, which older S series models were hardtails? I worked on one years ago with a 2 piece hardtail (Bridge/TP) I should’ve bought it but I was broke at the time.

I’m also looking at a 7570. The blue is sexy but I also really liked an EBMM I had with basswood/maple, so I’m thinking maybe I should go that route instead. I know a lot of guys say the older J. Customs are better, so I’m curious when do they start to slide, and what’s the quality issue or difference?

All in all, I have to admit I find the S more appealing because of the ergonomics and there just aren’t as many of them around.

I always thought the SF 470 was cool looking. All older S's being 22 frets is a bit of a deal breaker for me, though.

Awesome!! Thanks for the info! I found 2 on reverb. I didn't remember the SF being a different scale length.

Any extensive experience with the pups?
