Seriously, I'd like to see what he would do with "heavy" intentions and an 8-string in hand! Unsure of how the "trio with no overdubs" would come out in the end, but I'd definitely be interested in checking it out. Thanks for the info!!

I guess I find it interesting because I have never heard what Steve Vai might do with an 8-string guitar. That has never been an option.

Steve's been mentioning this "Alien Love Secrets 2" type project for a while now. Hopefully we'll hear it sooner than later, should be cool. Wonder which 8 he's been using of the 2 on vai.com, or if he has a new toy that he's been keeping under wraps..

I did not know that. I thought it was a new idea of his. I also assumed Ibanez gave him those 8-strings just to get his opinion or something.
