Serial number is something 90**** (on a neck plate). I don´t remember exact number. Black UV with green pickups, dot-inlays etc. I wonder why in earth is the Ibanez logo on headstock is just a green sticker and it´s not even under the lacquer. You could easily remove the sticker if you wanted to. Replaced neck maybe? A fake guitar? Where can I find out is this guitar a real Ibanez UV or fake?

Green dots sounds right, green pickups does as well. I just checked my green UV and the logo is raised on it like it's stuck on a bit, but post a picture anyway. Although I can't peel mine off, not have the desire to!

Of course, it could always be someone replacing a worn out logo with a decal? Still, pictures would be good to find out for sure!

You know my RG 7620s and my S 7420 have the shiny chrome logo under the clear as my PWH has a black sprayed logo over the clear and I think it's the same for the UV7BK. Are you sure it's a sticker?

Sorry about the bad quality. I only have a mobile with lousy camera at the moment.

The shape of the headstock looks pretty odd because someone has sawn the lower "horn" of the headstock off to fit the guitar in a case.

And yes, I´m pretty sure it really is a sticker. This is what makes me wonder if I´ve been cheated. Guitar is very well built and the parts are just what you can expect from Unverse, but I´m really confused about the neck. Could this be some early "prototype" or something? Should I remove the neck and check if I can find some information in there?

I´ve thought I might sell this guitar soon but I don´t want sell something I´m not sure of. And of course this will bring the price of the guitar down...

Looking at the pics now, guitar strongly seems like a UV7BK. Now that headstock looks odd, seems like as you write someone has sawn of the lower horn. My suggestion is, take of the neck and see what is stamped below there. I think the guitar is a true UV7BK with butchered neck sadly.

To me it looks like a UV7BK. THe scratchplate is right with the 3 layer black green black and everything else looks like it is a real one.

Whoever decided that sawing a bit of guitar off was preferable to buying a new case and selling the old one should be shot. repeatedly.

As has been said, look at the neck and the stamp on it.

To me, I think it's real but butchered, as unless someone was extremely good at making a neck then the only neck that would fit it is a Universe Neck. And also, most replacement necks (90% of the time) would have had different inlays if they were forking out the cash. So I reckon the neck is real ashardly anyone would have green dots inlayed on a replacement neck, I'd assume they'd go for something more exciting...

btw, its not a sticker, its painted over the clear, really thin... both my UV777GR and my PMC are the same, and i gotta be extra careful when cleaning them, and while restringing...

It´s not painted. I´m sure about that. Maybe the original logo has been scratched off and later replaced with the sticker.

I am gonna put the guitar in pieces, at least remove the neck and check what it says in there...

I agree with Fettouhi, you gotta take the guitar apart to know for sure. There's usually some sort of stamping identification found on the neck pocket of the guitar body and the neck heel as well.

I have no idea why anyone would want to do that to an Ibanez headstock...
LET ALONE A UV HEADSTOCK.

Other than that everything else seems to be in order, I checked out the other pics on your website, can't really see the heel plate clearly though. And the serial number on the back of the headstock seems to be missing as well.

Aside from the headstock everything looks about right. It's likely that it may be a replacement neck. If the Ibanez logo was just worn out, I really don't think someone would go and completely remove the Ibanez logo as well as the UNIVERSE logo. I mean you should be able to see the traces of the old Universe logo if it was there, if not at least traces of it being removed. (The logo is most definitely a decal if you can peel it off)

Please don't say that you got it off evil-bay.

The color of the logo looks wrong, I'd say it's a UV7BK neck, but somebody removed the original logo, probably when they sawed off the end (idiots) and put a green sticker on there. They're selling them all over ****. The Universe logo is missing so my best guess is they just replaced it. Pull the neck, if it's a real UV neck (which it probably is) it will say UV7BK on the heel.

Judging from the pics, It looks like a UV7BK with the tip of the headstock sawed off. I dont see a " u n i v e r s e " logo either. I'd say it's a decal on the headstock but it's hard to tell from the pics.

See if Rich at Ibanez Rules has a UV7BK neck. Last I knew, he did have one.
I'd get a new BK neck for that.

didn't say the guitar was from evilbay, but the ibanez sticker probably came from there and the previous owner probably put it on.
