Over the past year or so, I have used this forum (as a nonmember) for information to restore (in my own way, not factory) a 540 Radius. I've always been a fan of the JS guitars and bought one about 2 years ago. I've never owned an ibanez before then, I actually had never owned a high end name brand guitar before the JS. My father had built him and I a guitar a piece when I was 17 (I am now 31) from warmoth. It was a jackson soloist style body, direct mount pickups, H-S with a gold schaller floyd. The JS got me on an Ibanez kick though. Over a year period I found a 540 R body H-S-S configuration with no mini toggles, and could not find a 540R neck. But I did find a 540S neck which was SO different from the JS neck. I think it's a wizard but with 22 frets. I had never known that the JS body was modeled after this body until I stumbled across it on eBay one day. My eyes bugged out of my head at the $200 price (to me that was fairly cheap considering how much a new body costs).

The neck was near mint! No fret wear only $180. I settled on a Gotoh floyd, finding different opinions about whether or not it would fit in the edge route... it did, barely. It stayed in tune! Well I found an edge! It's now actually an Ibanez haha.

Here's some pics.

The Edge was a shocking $145, both the bridge and the neck are from a 1987 540S. The Humbucker is a DiMarzio Satchur8, the singles are Fender hot noiseless. I went with the fenders because I love Jeff Becks strat tone. I just have never liked the strat body, I am only 5'6" so... they feel sort of big on me. The volume is a push pull with a high pass filter, and the tone is a push pull to coil tap the humbucker. modeling the JS circuit.

I knew almost nothing about Ibanez guitars before building this one. The js24P I had bought I played at a local music store and fell in love with it. So you guys doing what you do best (especially Rich that man if full of information) guided me through a lot of questions that i had, and I didn't even really need to ask. I thank you all for helping me bring this thing to a new life, even though you never knew you were doing it haha.

Thanks! Yeah the color is something else. Very unique, it's a early 90's ford paint code. It's called jewel green. I haven't seen many guitars that shade before. Nore do you see many cars that color anymore.
