hi bros,
last night I downloaded some videos off of this guy's site including surfing with the alien, the attitude song etc. I know thi has been posted before but I wanted to hear what you guys think of him.

As far as I am concerned, he is total crap. He can play fast and accurate etc but guitar isn't about any of those! It seems to me that he doesn't feel music coursing through his veins, he just shows off playing the hard songs. I watched ftlog by him and I bet that song has never been played worse.

www.tonilloret.com you have to register to download the files.

Cheers

no offence but to try and knock him down just because he doesn't weep while doing vibrato doesn't mean he isn't passionate about music.
Guitar is about what you want it to be about. He is a tutor and if all he show cased was that he could make a funny face and put a bit of emotion into his playing he wouldn't be selling himself as well as he could. Technical ability impresses more people that seek a tutor.

That's my two cents.

I have nothing to say about his technique, it's just too good. About emotions, feeling the music doesn't need you to weep, make funny faces. Try to listen to his covers and then open the original ones. There's a huge difference...
Technical ability and emotion can be present at the same time. Suppose you seek a teacher and suppose that this guy can play just as good as steve vai. Which one would you prefer?

I'm sure you are an excellent guitarrist but, IMO there's no reason to use words like "crap" when someone is doing his best, more if he's not as much skilled as you are.
Words like "keep trying", or "you're in the good way but try bla bla" are more constructive opinions than "crap".
I'm not in agree with this kind of comments, so don't do it personal ok?

so you're saying you don't like it just because he isn't making a show of it?
if he felt it, it would be reflected into his music. I suggested that you LISTEN to steve vai or joe satriani, their wmotions are present in their songs. I believe this guy can be more expressive if he tries. He can play but the songs that are normally really affecting, when this guy plays them there's nothing but technique.

As to my language, I agree with you ivan, I was a little harsh I guess. But I really think he could do better. His technique is jaw dropping, if only he could be more expressive... Then he will be a top notch guitarist. Thanks for pointing out my language. I'm sorry.

edit: Btw, I didn't mean that I was better than him, I just told that he would be a better guitar player if he put emotion in his music. This way, I think of him as I think of malmsteen. Please do not misunderstand me, I didn't want to tell that I'm a better musician than this guy.

I just dont think you get it, the guys obviously busted his ass and put everything into his playing, and im willing to bet he loves playing guitar maybe more than most of us. I still think Yngwie is a very emotional guitarist, i just think alot of people just dont get him, because they really dont understand him.

malmsteen really is a very emotional guitarist, i loved his playing with the japanese philharmonic, now that was emotion! not opening your mouth while playing (like vai does a lot of times) or beating the crap out of your guitar while doing heavy tremolo action doesn't mean you're not an emotional player... toni lloret has a great technique and i think he knows how to interpret songs using his emotions ;D you can hear it, yet you can't see it ;D

Well, maybe that's why I can't like his songs. I really don't think yngwie is emotional. And everyone got it wrong. Being emotional isn't being like vai while playing. Joe doesn't do anything of that kind. Srv is emotional, bb king is emotional and I could go on forever. If expressing yourself through means doing weird things while playing to you then you and I have different notions about emotional music.
to me, music is a means to relay our emotions, thoughts to other people. While I listen to SRV's testify, I feel joy, while I listen to his Lenny i feel love, while I listen to summer song, i feel unbounded happiness, while I listen to crush of love, i think about my girlfriend etc. These feelings come to me without any effort while I listen to those that I like. They are just there I listen to them. But when I listen to yngwie I feel perfectly nothing. I don't feel any kind of things or think about anythink related to his music. Maybe that's just me.
It is the same with this guy. He plays really good and I am sure as hell that the guy "busted his ass" to play like that. It's not the playing that I admire in music. It's the music itself, the things that it tells me. I know it sounds weird but that is so. I'm really sorry that I talked that way about him in my first post, but I don't like what he does. I am sure he likes "playing" guitar, else he wouldn't be playing this good at all. but I really don't feel anything while listen to his music, his covers.
for example, I haven't seen any beethoven piece performed yet, I just listened to his compositions. I don't know if the guys who play his music make funny faces or "weep". but there's something in his music that grabs me. His music is just passionate.
another example is marcel coenen. He doesn't make funny faces or weep or any kind of weird things much, but his music is really emotional. He doesn't make a show of his emotions while he plays, but he puts his feeling and thoughts in his music.
I hope I made myself clear this time. "Feeling" the music isn't those funny faces while playing for me. That has never been the case. evil k666 said that we can't see that he interpret songs using his emotions but we can hear it. well it happens that I cannot. Please do not misunderstand because I talk about videos here, I downloaded videos because I like to watch music videos rather than listening to mp3 or cds. That is why I talk about videos.

No prob.
Now we agree with this, I have to say that you're right, it's totally different when you play with your heart instead playing with your mind, but it's also common on some of the Musicians I know (just know a few, not all...) who works for Recording Studios and plays with different artists (not his own bands)
They just play what is written, as a "finger exercise" if you want, but not really "PLAYING" (and for me this means FEELING) what the songs really means.

i think you shouldn't forget that those ppl you named play a very different style than malmsteen. malmsteen never wrote a song like "summer song" or something like that. he's not playing a lot of blues, but he can. i remember seeing him playing the blues in some kind of instructional video saying that he doesnt like it, because it's always the same. shure, this is a bit arrogant... malmsteen is a very technical player, indeed, but i wouldn't neglect (is this the right word?!?) his emotional side of playing. what i hate about ingwie is his tone (considering amp and pickups)... vai and satriani have definitivly a better tone and a better feeling for that...

Yeah, i know what kind of music they play. So you're actually sayin that in shred there's no emotion. I totally agree. Melody is present but just that. Nothing to "fill" the song. No emotion whatsoever. And I really don't think malmsteen can play blues, real blues. I don't care what he plays or does in instructional videos. I will always remember little wing played in 2003, which is present in G3 dvd

I got on this guys site and heard some of his original songs and improvs and thought they were pretty good, and with lots of feeling. You dont have to see a guitarist making faces to know he has feeling, just listen to the music and you should be able to hear it. I mean no disrespect but if you think this guy is crap why dont you post some of your stuff so we all can hear it. If you can do better, than tu`chey. If not than shut it and listen some more and maybe learn something from people like him!!!

Jesus Christ! have you ever thought of reading what have been written before you?! Please read the previous posts then write something.

And thanks, jafo that's what I have been trying to say but noone wants to understand it. I just can't like his music. There's nothing that appeals to me in his music. No feeling etc. I have already written this so I won't bother again... Only two seem to understand what I want to say, can't I express myself :) lol

I was writing a comment about the original question you asked about Toni Lloret. Isn't that the original question you posted about his songs and videos?! Maybe you should re-read your post again and see that I answered it and didnt stray off of it. Everybody got way off the original point. Now answer me this, If you do think Toni Lloret stuff has any feeling again, why dont you put some of your stuff on here for us all to listen to. Maybe you are one of those guys that is all mouth but can't back it up!!!!!! If you didn't mean to say his stuff was crap than you should have chosen your words a little more carefully.

I definitely think you should choose your words carefully as well because I can hardly choose my words carefully. I do not have to prove myself to anyone except myself and I have apologized for my first post. If you have difficulty understanding that there's nothing I can do. But I am better than getting in conflict with you over such a stupid thing. Things do progress, and after I apologized for my words everyone accepted that and if you cannot keep up don't post here.

As I have written I do not have to prove myself to anyone, but if you keep up posting this way, I shall post another way...
