Here in Chile that is a whole "cult" thing. Sometime ago, a 70's video of a now famous news anchorman surfaced on the net, where he interviewed a then adolescent guy named "Taldo", who had Tourette's. The whole 70's look, plus the guy cursing every other word made it a real phenomenon, they even made this site: www.supertaldo.com.

Tragicomically, the guy is now a 40 something who frequently appears on TV, bassically telling his life stories, and even laughing at himself (if you understood chilean slang, you'd really cry laughing at his videos!)

At least, the huge exposure of the tapes created awareness and now there's even a foundation called Tourette Chile!

In a word.....WEIRD!
