is there still a market for an Ibanez backstop? Is there more than one version that Ibanez used? Are they easy to tell apart? Is one more desirable than another.

Hey there! Those backstops are hard to come by. I used to own one but sold it about 8 or so months ago. It wasn't what i expected it to be. I actually wound up getting a pair of goldo back boxes (rockinger also makes one just like it) and used those instead. They felt way better. In the end though, i still wound up removing them. Just used 3 or 4 springs to help with the double stop bends.

There are 2 different versions however. The original was made from a casting process. And has the ibanez brand logo on it. The 30th jem anniversary versions were made from cnc block and do notnhave the ibanez branded logo. I'll try to find skme pictures.

Where the classic ones look like this, they have a texture from the casting process and have the ibanez logo on the back.

Ok great to know. I bought some parts and one was in a package in the parts. Might just get rid of it since I like the flutter. Do they sell for a decent price?

Mine has Ibanez on the back and licensed under Floyd Rose.

From what i've seen the originals (like yours) sell for more. Mine was a reissue. I still got $150 for it. I've seen them sell for as much as $250. It's all about who wants it bad enough.
