Hi guys,

is there any possibilities tht ultra neck in RG8570TT and RG2620QM is different?

i already own RG8570Tt, really love the neck, and yesterday, i just bought RG2620QM prestige, i decide to buy it, because the spec pretty much close to my J custom RG8570tt;

Mahogany body with quilt maple (RG2620Qm) and flame maple (JC RG8570TT)
Ultra neck

but then i notice that the RG2620QM is lighter than my RG8570, but base on the spec, it has the same mahogany wood for the body for both guitar

second, the neck in RG8570TT feel more thick compare to RG2620QM, base on the info, they have the same ultra neck

really need some enlightenment here

Regards

im pretty sure that the necks on the j-customs are hand crafted, so every single one will be different! and while one may feel thicker, if you measured, there'd probably be around 1mm difference!

as for the body - its possible that the woods are just different densities?!

hi rick baby, thanks for the insight.. but the differences both in the body weight and the neck thickness is really significant, i really can feel it at the first time i hold the guitar.. it's really significant..

thanks :)

Body weight doesn't mean much. I can get 2 RG1570's that will not weigh the same. Not all mahogany's and alders and basswoods weigh the same. Even if they come from the same tree. Thats just the way it works.

And Ibanez hand finishes all necks in the Prestige and J.Custom series. So none feel exactly the same. I have played 4 RG1527 guitars in my life. And the only one I really loved was the one I owned. The rest just didn't feel right.
