Excellent! Thanks for posting those! You've captured several that I think are either prototypes or one-off artist guitars. I had debated listing those. I'm not sure sure about Klemann, but Pamelina was definitely used by the custom shop for artist guitars. I don't know what to make of the one with the skeletons. It looks like Klemann's work, but the painted humbucker makes it obviously not a production or likely even a prototype guitar. I'm wondering if it's either an artist guitar or a refinish?

You should listem all of them.

I've read in some place that petrucci was "invited" to choose his signature guitar from a cuple of usa customs bodies and necks..

I'm sure that the picasso graphic was paint by Dan L

I've definitely seen all three of them before, but never this good of pictures. There's also one that says "Rock & Roll". It was owned by someone here but I can't find any current pictures of it. There's also the "cobra" guitar that was painted by Pamelina, but like the "flame" guitar, it was likely an artist commission and not really a USA Custom.

this 'cobra' was on the bay some years ago.
Is it the same cobra?

I saw that for sale on CL last year. I actually asked Pamalina about it, She said it was one of the samples submitted to Ibby, but it was not one of the ones chosen for production. I assume that would be the same as the flame. She said she did many submissions and obviously not all were used for catalog sales.

racewood top
Racewood

Excellent Japanese translation. It's "lacewood". There are good pictures of one of these on page 2 of this thread.
Maybe I missed it but I don't think I saw the Tiger print mentioned anywhere? (1990 serial#)
I've seen two pics of this finish but don't know what to make of it. That headstock would usually make it a '91 model but the '91 catalog doesn't show that finish. The 1990 poster shows a finish called "Jungle Cat" that looks a lot like "Metal Leopard" but not exactly. I've never found a picture of the "Jungle Cat" finish, which might be what this is.

Umm I didn't even know there was a wood called lacewood, I just translated it as I best saw fit based on my lack of knowledge of wood names :?

Yeah that's the name I saw on the other one. But there's no reference to that name in the order form, the poster or any catalogs.
there was a magazine adv for it.
I found it once, try to google it again if it's still there.

The adv is like this : an 80 shredder holding it, it was a single humbucker with dot inlays ( if I remember it correctly). It would be easier if I remember that 80 shredder's name.
