Congrats, tonetheus, nice UCGRs!

Maybe the price of the necro was over the value, but as a collector of early charvels I know this: Whenever there is a early black Charvel with yellow stripes on ebay the people get crazy and the auctions goes over 5000 $...

And why shouldn`t the prices of USA Customs rise? They are rare, they were the top-of-the-line-products of one of the biggest guitar-manufactures, famous graphic artists etc.

Maybe 5-10 years ago you could get a used USA Custom about 500 $, now we got the 1000 $ - line, I´m optimistic for rising values in future.

Thanks! The value is all over the place on these right now too. I bought an Angels Departed off the bay for $750 just a few weeks back, which for what I perceive to be a coveted version, and I think they look really cool too.. I was thrilled with the purchase. Then the guy refused to send it because he thought the final bid was too low and the bay of course, could do nothing about it. We can't physically go shake the guitar out of the guy.. hmmm.. anyway.. I picked one up for just around $1,000 too. So they're still around $1,000, I think a little more for ones in really good shape. I still kinda stand by the Necro for $1,300. $1,200 would have been better.. but there's still protective plastic covering on some of the covers. I mean .. 1991 .. still plastic. No dents or nicks but there is a small scratch on the back that I'm pretty sure I can do something about. It has an H/S/S setup with the lightning inlay neck which was an upgrade and original case. Says Ibanez USA Custom right on it. I mean.. come on people! LOL!

Your guitar is not a '91, it is very clearly an '89. It has an '89 serial number and everything. I just looked at the auction to see where you're getting this from. You're not reading the serial number correctly.

Yes, it`s a 1989. The F9 at the beginning of the ser.-nr. means 1989, F0 is 1990, F1 is 1991, F2 is 1992.
Annother point: Only the very early guitars had the volume knob in this position (extremly near the brigde humbucker), later the position changed a little.

For me, your Necro is one of the best variations, I prefer those with a yellow edge in the graphic.

You wrote, that muckiplift has kept a cosmic swirl. Is it the green or the yellow one? Do you know if he would sell that one, too?

Ha! Right. I'm just being a dumb a$$. F91 doesn't mean 1991. I knew that too, just took a quick look and my brain failed me again. Sorry for the false quote. I don't think he was interested in selling anything else. I was hoping to pick at the rest of his collection too but he seemed pretty satisfied to hold on for now, his thinning is done. It's a green cosmic swirl that he has by the way.

A USA custom, for sure. Of course. No doubt! ;-)

Maybe…. with the ecxeption of…..

- Wrong body shape (no RG)
- 1988 Bensalem neckplate but Harley-badge from 2003. So Ibanez made this guitar 15 years before the bagde, they used, was produced.
- And 2003 Ibanez wasn`t in Bensalem, the Bensalem Shop closed about 1991
- Depression among badge craft imprecise (google translater, I hope you know, what I mean, look at the second pic.^^)
- Sawed headstock (Ibanez would never do this)
- I think, Harley would not cooperate with a Japanese firm, they cooperated with Fender USA
- The headstock decal doesn`t fit 1989 (small usa custom lettering) and doesn`t of course fit 2003 (Ibanez didn`t use usa custom letterings after 1996)
- ......

Looks to me like an selfmade craft project. What do you think, Jesse?

Oh its definitely without a doubt a parts guitar customized by them(seller). I think they are skirting a gray area because they are suggesting it might have come from an Ibanez custom shop, but only actually say it came from a usa custom shop....Yes theirs when they customized it.

It`s a nice USRG10, made by Dave Bunker / PBC from USA for Ibanez.
Another USRG10 is on ebay France these days.

I like the USRG10 (I own one myself) because it is the only usa custom without a edge trem. This and the 2 H make this guitar quite up to date/modern.

Those early photos that are missing are hosted at his personal account with comcast which looks to have switched to xfinity. Unfortunately, the forum restrictions force folks to host photos elsewhere and when those sources fail, or someone switches accounts, the pics will disappear with them. I really wanted to try and fix things around here (creating online communities is what I do) but I couldn't get a response from the owners at Keebali Media about purchasing the site. I tried and tried but have given up.

Have you tried talking to Glen? He doesn't own the site anymore (obviously) but I think he has the owners ear. I think Verus is working on development as well...... I'm sure he'd be glad to hear from you.
