FAT I believe it to be a range in the lower-mid's to the bass region. adding to this area of the eq will make an eq sound "fat". Fatter is like... more bass but it's really tight and focus'd vs warm which is more bass (and a smidge less highs) and it's looser.
I have just always read it to mean a chunky, thick humbucker tone. Compared to say a thin, weaker single coil tone. FAT is just a nice rounded, full tone.
