Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of Ash wood is used in the RGR652AHB Prestige. I looked it up on the Ibanez website and it just says "Ash", but I know that the tone quality can differ from different types of ash wood.

I was curious because i'm getting a little bit of a honky tone up top, and i'm trying to trouble shoot where it's coming from. I just installed a rather bright pickup, and i'm playing the guitar through an EVH 5150 iii combo at the moment (which can be a bit fizzy on top to begin with).

If anyone could provide input it would be appreciated!

I've tried to get the answer before and there is none to get. If it was swamp ash it would be specified, but just "ash" means it's just "ash". There is no specification past that and Fujigen supplies no specifics past that. They procure the wood, Ibanez does not.

Much appreciated my man. Always a great help! Based on your experience with Ibanez guitars, would you say that the ash tonewood in the RGR provides a more airy tone, with a more pronounced high end?
