Except for AN-TZ?
Medium / medium high output, should work good a tad farther from strings than recommended, good split tones, tremolo guitar (RGT220)

PAF Joe - MO' Joe? PAF pro - PAF pro?

It would really help to know: type of music played, amp, guitar, etc...
My new favorite combo is a Distortion Plus bridge/PAF Pro neck.
the guitar is Ibby prestige RGT220 neckthru, the mahogany one, Edge Pro bridge
I play either thru Mesa rack (triaxis / 2:50 / mesa cab), or POD HD500
i am leaning towards the Satriani pair (MJ - PJ), because I really do a lot of intrumental stuff now

I certainly wouldn't go with a TZ in a mahogany body
I replaced the stock Tone Zone in my RG8570, it was muddy, terrible throught Mesa amps and lacked more impact. Now it has an Evolution (DP159) and it's a night and day difference, and I have an Evo 2 on it's way. I think it's going to be even better, just like in basswood.

I have many Dimarzio Pickups.
I have about six different rigs and over twenty guitars.
I can make any pickup sound good on any of my rigs if its a half way good pickup.
I have-

FRED
Tone Zone
Air Zone
Air Norton
Norton
PAF Pro
Texas Specials
Lace Sensors Gold, Blue, Silver and Red
Blaze
Blaze Custom
EVO
EVO7
Tone Zone7
Steve's Special

The only one I didn't like at all was the Steve's Special

PAF Pro, Tone Zone or Air Zone and Air Norton are my Favorites

I've seen the specs for the new JS pickups.
I don't think I'm going to buy them.
The PAF Joe has very little bass and very low output, it looks to be a crippled version of the PAF Pro to me.
The PAF Pro is as low as I would go for bass and output but I love the PAF Pro.
The Mo Joe looks alright but the tone look very flat from the specs.

As far as tones go, who do you like?
I can tell you what pickup will best get you there.
What rig set up will you be using?

oh, thank you.
as I said eralier, i either run Mesa Traiaxis / Mesa 2:50 / Gmajor / Mesa 412, or just POD HD500. As far as tone goes.. I don't know, I like Satch' tone when it's not too distorted, and I hate pickups that can do high gain only and sound flat and obnoxious clean. The more "vocal quality"they 9pickups) have on leads, the better. I start thinking about PAF pro... known and trusted. i like Air Norton, but it's a tad too bassy on wound strings, to me

How's your Dynamic Voice? Trust me, to notice all the difference between pickups, keep it at 0 and crank your mids. I used to keep mine around 3 and 6 but now every preset that I use is set at 0.

i play a lot of rhythm, and having DV lower then 3 or 4 makes the rig sound really boxy :( it works great for leads, though

The FRED is a great pickup.
It is basically a PAF Pro with more mids and better harmonics.
Everyone is forgetting about it because of Satche's new pickups.
Every time I pickup my S540LTD, I'm reminded how much I love the FRED.
