It's either an RG1808 or a KRG1808 (don't remember which one). It came out the first year the J-Customs were introduced. This was supposed to take over where the Ibanez USA Custom Exotic Wood left off, but was phased out quickly. Pickups on it I believe were the typical J-Custom combo (AN/BV/TZ). The neck was the 3-pc ultra neck.

The top on that sure isn't very symmetrical, but then again these early J-Customs didn't exactly have the greatest maple tops.

Why do you think it wouldn't sound too good?? It probably does weigh a ton being an all maple body guitar. Tone wise it's likely to be very bright sounding. If I recall the "Killer" brand of guitars that's used by Akira Takasaki(Loudness) has models which are all maple.

Heck I'd buy this guitar.... hhhhhmmmmmmm... maybe I should... it's been a few months since my last new guitar...

Yup looks like an RG1808, and they have an ebony fretboard to make it even brighter sounding !!! Nice though.

Hmm.. Are you guys sure it is not an RG2808 in Royal Violet? Seems to me that the RG2808 was the one that had the solid flame maple body, ebony fretboard, neck binding, BUT NOT headstock binding. Either way it is pretty nice looking, though solid flame maple has got to sound super bright and also be quite heavy.
