I bought my 760 30 years ago. I’m still in love with it and still play it! Have many memories with it. In all this time I found one guitar that felt ALMOST as good in my hands and that’s one of the newer Jem 77 BFP’s so I finally bought one. There is only one thing I DON’T like about it and that is the tremolo arm. It’s the screw-cap style. The problem is that when I’m done putting a vibrato on, I like for the tremolo arm to drop back out of my way. On this newer Jem, if you have it loose enough to drop out of the way, the arm kinda rocks in what I consider a clunky way. This is because there is only a single bushing towards the top of the insertable portion of the arm right under the screw-cap. There isn’t one that inserts deep into the hole so the bar rocks back and forth. If you tighten it up, it is nice and stable but doesn’t drop down easily out of the way. Granted I can adjust my playing style and push it down out of the way after use if needed. I decided to experiment and took the bar out of my 760 and put it in the Jem...problem solved! The 760 is push in style with two bushings and works just how I want it to.

This set me off into a new quest, I bought an Ibanez tremolo bar from Musicians friend, they said it will work in Edge tremolos and that it’s 6mm. I got it today...doesn’t fit in either guitar! Bummer. In the decades I have had this guitar, sadly I don’t know which tremolo it has in it! I see they also make a 5.5 mm bar. However it seems like these are for newer guitars. So...does anyone know what I should order if I want to find a bar for my good ol’ 760?

It doesn’t screw on like the zero 2 but it pops into the hole and works without that horrible slop though. I actually found a spare one from an 80’s edge on eb*y. We’ll see if it works as well. Will report back.
