Is that a Khaler trem ? If so I'd guess the owner got fed up with floyd type bridges and wanted something more stable. At least it's gold and matches the rest of the hardware. Could be worse.
Yeah, it could've been a tune-o-matic.
OUCH!
That hurts my eyes..............

It just.....ain't..... right..... =:^(
yah

it is a kahler trem..

i dunno.. just didnt look right for some reason...

true.. at least he got it gold :)

maybe the owner is apart of us here :)
This is not a VWH - either a replacement body or one of them Korean made Ibanez copies that Tommy Angelo had access to.
I guess some people still prefer Kahler bridges.

It does look quite odd doesn't it......I didn't even know Kahler's were still available.

well, im not exactly sure how old the pic is....
Kahler are now alive and well again. The company has started selling them again. Their website is back up and running too. They had gone "bust" years ago, but have re-formed again. They started-up again May 2005.

I am actually partial to a Kahler trem. I really like them. But even I think that putting it on a VWH is just a pure crime. But I am glad Kahler are back in business again.
Did you notice there's no lions claw??? Or is it just covered by the massively bulky Khaler?? That thing is HUGE8O

An ugly wiggle stick ;).

You can also notice that there's no evidence that there used to be a floyd there as well. No hole where the trem posts are supposed to be and also. Looks more like a replacement body but then again, it could be a very well done refinish with the old trem cavity filled in.

Which brings us full circle...."Why oh why??"
I personally dislike the appearance of this.... thing.
looks like a recent job...

seems as if hes got this trem on it

I like it. Something different, something personal.

You can have your standard VWH everyday of the week....this one is custom.

You simply can't beat that.

Although I would have put custom scratch plate on there too.
That looks odd on a 7VWH (if it is a VWH). Still, whoever did it, did a great job in converting to the Kahler. I would've kept the Floyd. :)
Looks ok to me, I'm sure it plays well. I don't know if it's such an upgrade to be worth the price of the trem (320US?), but hey, if it makes the owner happy it looks good to me. If they had left the original trem on and painted the pickguard black it would look 10X worse...
