hello forum,

I need help with the wiring, I'm completely desperate. I have an Ibanez RG550 from 1993 with a V7/S1/V8 HSH pickup setup with a 5-way switch, 1x volume, 1x tone. I would like the V7 and V8 against Seymour Duncan Black Winter. I would like to keep the existing coil taps. The Ibanez have 3 wires, the SD have 4 wires. I just can't figure out what to solder where. Does anyone here have any experience of what I need to solder where? I've never done anything like this before, but it's not a problem technically.

Okay that sounds plausible, I'll try that. The main thing is that I don't have any disadvantages from this type of wiring.

Here is a picture of a 1997 RG550 I found with a quick search online that should be identical to my 1993 setup. I have now ordered the SD SSL-4 Quarter Pound for the middle position (2 cables, 1x white, 1x black). That would be complete with 1 x SD Black Winter SSH-BWN Neck Position, 1 x SD SSL-4 Quarter Pound in the middle position and 1 x SD Black Winter Trembucker in the bridge position and the whole thing should then be included on the 5-way switch the coil splits work as before with the Ibanez setup as in my 1st post in the diagram
