Has anyone mastered the Yngwie tone? What amp settings he uses, the effects, and of course the amp itself? Thanks in advance! :D

This is the right one. :D

Various Fender Stratocasters with scallped necks and Dimarzio HS-3 (bridge) and Dimarzio YJM in the middle and neck into various vintage DOD 250 Overdrive stompboxes into a massive stack of Vintage marshall amps.

Yngwie's amp of choice is the Marshall 1987 (model #) head. Yngwie uses vintage models dating from 1972-73 in the studio and live, but the re-issue Marshall 1987x is a superb replica of the 1972 (year) model which were slightly more aggressive in sound. Yngwie always runs the volume control on 10 with the tone controls varying between amp heads. If you get to try one of these amps do not expect hi gain sounds, these amps are relatively clean sounding and only start getting into major overdriven sounds when slammed with an overdrive pedal.

As Gex said, make sure you have a DOD250 overdrive pedal, or his new DOD YJM 308 siganture overdrive pedal. Both give different Yngwie tones. Apparently the DOD250 is better for the cleaner, earlier Yngwie tones. And his new YJM pedal is better for his slightly later tones.

Yngwie uses 1.5mm Dunlop picks made of Delrin.
As for strings Yngwie goes for: .008 .011 .014 .022 .032 .048 and uses Fender Bullets.

An obviously there is the strat. But you should know all about that already.

(That's just an opinion) Well, considering I do have a Fender Strat, I like his tone. My tone is no where near that of his, but I enjoy it. :D

I do to. As you said, its all personal opinion. But the people that "hate" Yngwie or have something against him are usually just jealous. If they dont like him, most people can appreciate his technical skill and abillity. Alot of people have a "thing" against Yngwie, mainly because he is quite an arrogant soul, but thats just him. And the people that "dislike" him, most probably wouldnt say it to his face if they saw him. Okay, yes, so maybe he isnt the most melodical musician in the world - but he is probably, for me, the most technically skilled and gifted.

Not only that, but for me, he has the best vibrato in the game, and the best use of a standard fender strat trem in the business too. People tend to underestimate those particular skills of his. Again, this is just for me, but his early Rising Force stuff - is up there with the very best. It is just breathtaking.

I saw Yngwie back in May of this year, and he was amazing. I have seen alot of bands and artists, especially in the last year or so - and Yngwie is easily the loudest act I have ever seen. My ears were actually physically hurting after the gig. It was well worth it though.

I'm glad to here that someone else besides me likes the Yngwie tone and style of playing with a pretty much standard Fender Strat. His vibrato is the most exotic of all, and he definately has the best vibrato I've heard from a standard trem as well. You don't need the best of everything to get a great sound! :D

I own a Yngwie USA Strat and If I plug it into a mid gain amp and add just a touch of delay and some verb I get a Rising Force in my pants!!!

This is very true, so you're not going to get TRUE yngwie tone if your amp is not all the way up. To achieve this and still have ears, i would look at buying a THD Hot plate. It allows you to have your tube amp all the way up so you get great tube tone but can also adjust the volume. Hope this helps.
