What are my options. There's some talk about a schaller--do I need to buy a collar and arm?

I'm assuming Ibanez doesn't have a replacement part for these tremolo systems.

And yes, I did search the forum first--but there were too many threads with quasi-information in them. Set me straight -- Good Karma to you!

You can upgrade to the v1.1 ZR tremolo arm. I think Rich @ Ibanez Rules will sell you everything you need for $40-50.

I'm not sure if any other arm assemblies will fit.

I have also read that some Schaller holders will fit and I'm sure the price is much cheaper than OEM parts.

Ibanez changed to the V1.1 holder system because the cast V1 holder tube was prone to breaking. Although it did hold the bar better with the threaded plastic cup the bar threaded into which prevented slight wobble of the bar in the socket, which many people will complain about.

You still have v1 arms? I know that having play will drive me insane--I come from a mostly fender background and it's driven me mad in the past.

1 bar left and then they're all gone, but it will do you no good with a broken holder. You can wrap the bar with shielding tape or even scotch tape to take the pay out of it.
