Black and Green swirl paint job

through this board i was able to find a site that gave the instructions on how to do the swirl paint job, but i had a few questions regarding the GMC finish. I know with the DNA, the guitar is painted white before the swirling is done, for the GMC, is the guitar painted white, then the green and black is swirled on, or is the guitar painted green with the balck swirled on??

erm... Jeremy or Darren might be better suited to answer this question... but If I where doing it Id paint it black first

I'm pretty sure they're all painted white first - I think if the undercoat was black then it would be hard to get the green bright as the black underneath would darken it too much.

I'm pretttttttty shure it has white paint first of all.
Just try swirling some pieces of wood, remembering that you have to pratice with REAL guitar bodies too.
Believe me: it's diferent every time you put on water.
Keep trying.

100% sure its a white undercoat, ive seen a good few gmc's with the odd chip to reveal the white beneath. Altho most people i know then colour that in black with a marker

I just read your post.Can you tell me which site you found information on 'How to Swirl' on.I've read the info on the 'ATD' site but it doesn't go into much detail.I'd be extremely grateful for any information on how to do it properly.By the way,that's a great looking Black+Green Swirl for a DIY job!!!!!
