Okay, in exactly one month i will be playing a show for 25k people, and my precious artcore will not likely survive and/or feedback all over the place lol. so i'm looking for the best thing i can get under 200$ - i know its crazy, but i'm on a very strict budget!! I dont really care *that much* as long as i can pull off a satch scream with it, and if i can i can fake it with my whammy pedal i guess lol.

any suggestions please?!?!

regards,

Frank

I just got a nice ART100 of **** for under 200 shipped. Has not arrived yet but I bought an ART420 a couple weeks ago and love it. I think the ART series is pretty damn good for the money. Might be the best guitar value out there right now, definitley is for the Ibby's IMHO. Borrowing one is also a very good suggestion. Good luck on the gig.

I would love to hear the explanation on the 25K people gig?? I would say borrowing or renting is your best bet. If you have to buy something you better do it quick so you can receive it in the mail if you go that route, and get it set up how you like it and make sure its intonated properly and you have played it a bit and know everything works you dont want the jack going in n out in front of 25k people. If you had to buy something under $200 I would say a used Ibanez rg470 maybe or maybe a 5xx if you are really lucky or the
ESP LTD MH-103 is pretty decent maybe you could find one used. REally a weird situation.

Yeah, i guess i'll likely end up borrowing something. i've found some folks that make f-hole plugs for my model artcore, that is a good possibility. do y'all think that just micing a 65 watt to the venue's p/a would be sufficient? my multi-fx also has an XLR out, would that be better. god i sound like a noob.

I have some more ideas for you. If you can do good setups or if you know someone who does offer a friend to set up his guitar for free(or pay to have it done) in exchange for using it for your gig.Throw in a few sets of strings and you should be in.The shady other idea is buy a guitar from somewhere where they give a money back guarantee use it for your gig and take it back I guess?? Leave the belt buckle at home and dont drop or damage the thing and you should have no problem sending it back.(sorry for that to all reputable sellers I apologize in advance)

I actually have a good candidate for that, i know a dude that has a decent axe with a poor setup! time to negotiate  ! thanks for the help, i feel like such a dork. i did not know how ill prepared i was to go from a hundred every other weekend to 25k lol  .

yup, i'm gonna combine those three options lol, i'm borrowing my friend's squire and setting it up to cover rent (and it reeeaaally needs a setup lol). i called him up (my drummer) so fingers crossed!

the gig is the Albany riverjam, a two day festival. its got some big regional names, and the real attendance figures show from 18 to 30 thousand. so i figured 25 was a reasonable assumption, i know for a face its DEFINITELY gonna be well over 10 lol

Im not breaking your balls but how is it the best you can come up with is a squier to borrow? I mean what about the other acts playing the riverjam there has to be a decent like superstrat or les paul or prs or strat or something? Did you just move there or something? I mean I know gearsluts who could offer you like a mini guitar center choice if not better. Make friends with your fellow local musicians and gear collectors and repair/setup people.Having some more resources and options can only be good. You know network a bit mentor some rich kid and give him lessons and I'm sure they would let you borrow the Ibanez RG1550 his parents bought him. I mean come on you have a month. How about a free weekend pass(you should get for free) for the festival in exchange for the best guitar you can borrow to do the show post that on craigslist under musical instruments and see what happens. How did you ever get the gig anyway the drummer must be the brains of the group?????????????????

where i live everything is southern rock and country, if its not fender, its not a guitar. people HATE guitars with humbuckers and floyds down here, it really is the best i could do, ibanez is a bas*ard brand in south georgia :-(

Nice...great idea..try swap sheet or craigslist, or used at any good music store...this really doesn't warrant such a wide discussion..., hell, going back to corpraider69's idea, leave your axe for collateral if you have to AND BORROW ONE !!!

PS corpraider69, one of my past bands mentioned jamison irish whiskey constantly during our set while playing a jamison party, and got free shots, tons of swag and pics w/ hot chicks...it's all a marketing game with fun attatched !!!
rock on !

JAMISON IRISH WHISKEY IS THE BEST. I was trying to help the dude out I thought he was young and kinda desperate. Now Im just hoping my mention of Jamison Irish Whiskey here will get me a free bottle. Rock on and pass the Jamison Irish Whiskey the finest whiskey money can buy LMAO!!!!!!! Gotta luv It
