I had someone send me the link to this article as they know that I try to support the White Ribbon campaign (though I always feel like I'm not doing enough, and in reality, I'm really not) and I thought I'd pass it along as much as I could. It's an interesting read, graphic in places, and so shocking you won't believe it's true. It's a good example of how the media can promote some of the most disgusting and disturbing aspects of humanity until they become a full-fledged fad.

Newsflash for you buddy - violence against another human being (and most animals I might add) is already outlawed in all civilised countries........including Canada.

And also about violent games/films/TV/porn - sicieties like Japan where these things are widespread to a ridiculous degree and where women dress and act like little girls to get attention (which I might add is the complete oposite of what western girls do) have absolutely no problem (compared to North America and Europe) with crime, violent crime, homicides, violence in general and pedophilia.

Lots of things are illegal that still happen. It was barely 10 years ago that my neighbour was beaten so badly by her boyfriend that we had to take her to the hospital, that was my brother's best-friend's mom. She went back to him for a while anyways and he still abused her.

It's a very real problem, law or not. And the media does nothing to help it.

You know what's sad? How many responses like this I've been getting everywhere I mention this.

Thank you for contributing to discrimination, abuse, and the overall degredation of the world.

This is a serious problem, but no one takes it seriously.

I'm hoping someone says something positive in here soon, because really, there's nothing good going on so far.

I have nothing more to say, I'm just getting more and more depressed and frustrated with the world around me.

I do what I can

In all seriousness though I'm (and probably everyone who responds like that)
pretty sick of people blaming other sources for everything, people need to take responsability for their own actions.

Oh well, I guess if posting a link makes you feel better then post away.

So what's up with the sh*t attacks againstTwo Hands 31? Did I miss something? I agree people need to be responsible for there own actions Duh that's a gimme and a cliche' any more. However the general public has become desensitized to most violent acts against humanity. So yes society has something to do with it, just as much as parents do and other role models. Respect is becoming a lost art, and it's becoming apparent everywhere including this site....
