Great way to enter the world of Jems. Whatever you decide for the bridge pup make sure it's pink!

 

Congrats! Great way to start your JEM infection. A good cleaning will do wonders. Get some oil on the fretboard and the rosewood will darken up nicely. Enjoy it.

Nice! If it was me, I would start with the PAF Pro and you can always change later. But why not go stock and see how it does, you know?

I would try to get a used pickup. The new pink dimarzio's isn't the same pink, or change all pickups. And make sure you order with black polepieces

Thanks everyone! I'm very happy with it as it's my favorite body/headstock combo pattern I've seen on an FP. Still in the cleaning/setup phase of course. I think I will go with the PAF pro and return it to stock. The bridge in there at the moment is an Evo that I borrowed from another axe since the pup that came in there was an IBZ USA F1 that had gone microphonic.

This PUP look a little faded pink Maybe it will fit in nice.

the original Jem - beautiful guitar!!! I kinda like the look of the black pickup...I think black pup covers, knobs and switch would look cool...if you are looking for something different...in any case, that is an awesome guitar...I'm jealous - but happy for you - congrats!!!

Not to pick on it, but is the middle pup cover correct?? I don't remember the area where the wires go through being pink. I thought that part was black on the originals.

 

I'm sure someone else who knows better will chime in, but I can't tell if it's black or pink in the catalogue, but the shade of the middle pickup matches the neck pickup exactly and the neck pickup looks like the original. I do think that in time I'm going to swap out the pup set for some new pink diMarzio's, but I may not do that as I am particularly fond of the tone out of this neck pickup.

There are no black areas at the pup in ny FP. Pretty shure it,s orginal. Just one owner before me. I have the orginal receipt from the musicstore.

Well Paf Pro's might not be that high output pickup like a Evo's but it would be a stretch to say they don't sound good.

 

Nothing like popping the Jem cherry than with a 77FP! Nice one Saxopwn! Yours does have a unique pattern layout. Really dig the headstock blue flower. Sweet!
