I am one of Paul's students on the Artistworks website and everyone is freaking out for the new album. He is already posting lessons on some of the new material as it is already released in the east

 

Is that link representative for the rest of the album in terms of styles?

 

It would appear so. The YouTube channel that link is from has 3 other clips, and with the exception of an instrumental cover of LoverBoy's 'Working for the Weekend', its all bluesy.

I will post more if I find more ... not a lot of info about this just yet.

 

what is the roundish pedal he is using on each beat? is it just to keep a tap tempo via midi? because it seems that he had to signal to the guy on the mixer to start the background track.

 

I'm not fan of blues, but that wasn't typical blues. I could listen to that a couple times

 

Ok, it's no blues album.

More melodic rock, its definitely not a shred album. The youtube clips I posted don't appear to have much to do with the album at all.

I love how Paul's becoming more jazzy/bluesy as time goes on. His first stuff with Racer X was more classical.
