I decided to put some nail polish under the bushings to make it more stiff... Ok, so I try to take off one bushing, and man is this ever DIFFICULT! I sat there for 20 minutes trying to get it off, and when I did, it popped off somewhere in the other room. Ahh man, no big deal I thought, I have 2 extras. So, I got a replacement and tried to put it on... I struggled for... oh I dunno, 20 or so more minutes trying to push it back onto the arm, to which it finally popped out of my fingers and is lost in the other room once again.

How do you guys remove/replace the little bushings without this happening? I also bent/stretched one of the bushings trying to get it back on and I'm not sure if that's supposed to happen or not.

Needlenose I take it?

The jamroom has a huge rug/carpet in it that's light colored, so when I dropped them, they disappeared into the carpet and I couldn't find them. I got on my hands and knees looking for it to no avail

i used to do like that:

Image

keep the arm firmly pressed onto the desk with your wrist.

Image

fit a couple tiny wrench tips right into the bushing's slot.

Image

pull them slowly and steadily to open the bushing.

Image

until the bushing pulls off the arm. to keep the bushings from
fly, simply put a cloth or something soft under the arm.

but lately i'm learning pulling them just with my fingertips/fingernails. it also depends on how stiff the bushings are.

The Way I do it and isn't the best by far is to use both Thumb nails to pull the Bushing off.
Make sure the split in the Bushing is facing upwards and make sure somethings below it to catch the bushing
E.g. Sit on your bed and hold the arm about an inch away from the duvet and when it comes off, it should fall on the duvet.

I did this earlier actually, Before I read this post.

It doesn't matter how big your fingertips are because you spin one hand around so the fingernails face each other. What does matter is if you knaw your nails down to the quick and have nothing to work with. Then, ask a friend ;)

I actually tried using my thumbnails to do it, but I felt a bit much pressure on the nails and I was deathly afraid of peeling back one of them :?

The material of the bushings is a lot harder than I expected it to be, but I'll try and see what I can do just here in a bit and try not to lose them this time.
