Since I now have RGs, JEMs and PIAs, it is finally time to really learn how to do string changes, action and trem setup. I did a trial set up on a JEM JR using Rich's guidelines on Ibanez Rules - it was challenging and took 3 hrs - but I lowered the action, got the bridge setup correctly, etc.

I am not criticizing Rich's instructions but I struggle with some of the terminology (no offense to Rich)...Has anyone done videos that correspond to Rich's instructions? Or other recommended setup videos?

It doesn't help the fact that website is still written in psychodelic theme with countless color words.

I literally have to use an browser extension to disable all that and transform it to one color and better aligned to be easier to read

I wonder if mechanics learned to mechanic by reading "written guides"

Do shoe cobblers learn by reading internet guides? I keep wondering

For someone new to this, you're safer going with the written instructions as the tendency with videos is for us to see "enough" to keep going. Keep in mind, you're looking at a deep-dive so it's not something a casual user should necessarily expect to grasp right away. If one can't follow Rich's instructions it's likely that you need to get a general understanding of Floyds, setups, etc. When I first discovered them, years ago, they were perfect because I was already doing set-ups and Rich's guides detailed the small things that were relevant to these specific guitars.
