tnx for the info dude! it's an RG198QMBLS. this thing doesn't have shark tooth inlay. the pickups are dimarzio air norton, blu velvet and tone zone. i got an info from sonmebody who owns one, not sure though if it has the quilted maple top or a veneer, but for sure it has basswood body with QM top. i wanna make sure first if the thing has QM or just a veneer. I'm hoping somebody has a catalog and has specs of the guitar on it. the catalog i saw on ibanezregister.com, doesn't have the specs on it.. PLS HELP!! I wanna buy the guitar but i wanna make sure it's worth it! got an advise?

 

o.. i must seen something else in the catalogue, however, i'll check again my catalogue tonite.

dude, i'm not sure the RG 198 comes with dimarzio, it could be aftermarket modification.

the number.. RG 1xx is low end model ( no hard feeling) , i don't think it uses dimarzio.

 

Here in Japan, i owned Rg198Qm, and i really love it..... its a jcustom ibanez guitar made in japan by koichi fukuda and model guitar artist Andy Timmons. i think.... Its a StaticX main guitar, so i bought it herein japan late 2000. until now, its sounds great!! You better keep it!! For a while, that guitar is going to be a vintage, so i always take care of it... its already year 2007 going 2008. The guitar was released since 1999 or 2000 maybe. Please see attached is tha catalogue scan of RG 198QM.
The specs are totally wrong from my previous post:
it's agathis, Wizard3 neck, never heard pickup models.
And i's definetely NOT a J Custom.

So I was right at one point : it's low end model and not possible come with dimarzio pickup from the factory. he Dimarzio must be aftermarket modification.

karasu : if this thing appears in some of the used guitar shop in japan, i think it's worth around 10,000 Yen.
but if the previous owner give you dimarzio installed with the guitars, i think 10,000-12,500 Yen is fair price..

my advise?
don't take it.
get your self something better, for example, used RG 6XX i think you can have it around 30,000 yen from Yahoo japan auction.

I just hope somebody from japan would sell me an rg model with direct mount pickups, mahogany with maple top body.. pls reply to this thread or pm me if you have any or if anyone from japan can sell one.. used will be much appreciated!!!
