What happens when you die?

I was watching the History Channel and it was talking about God bringing the world to a end and then I had a thought, What happens when I die? What do I feel? What happens to me? Do I know anything? I want to get your thoughts on this. My mom said she wasn't scared of death but I feel like I am. I am only 14.

Nothing, it's like sleep. No pain, no feeling, no sense of passing time, just nothingness. Nothing to be worried about at 14, you've probably got a good 80 or so years left!

So, what were you watching on History Channel exactly? That's a great channel, tons of cool stuff on it.

It was a thing on ancient history or something like that. Something about god bringing life to a complete end.

I believe in Jesus. I hope everyone believes in a Holy god and not Satan. If you believe in Satan than thats your choice and won't degrade you.

I had my throat slit by a crack addict back in '90 when I was driving a cab and finishing school (lost 9 1/2 pints of blood). I was dead for 93 seconds or so in the hospital. It's like being asleep, no angels, no music, lights off power down. No white lights and tunnels either when you bleed to death, as that is caused by rapid blood pressure dropping evidently.
Bro that seriously had to suck donkey balls. Does it feel like your knocked out? I have been knocked out once and I about punch that nurse. She stuck me like 50 times with a needle trying to get a vein and was poking nerves or something I just fell over. Why did he slice you for?

After you die....
if you are really lucky and have kids, they get your guitars unless......idk tons of issues....

or if you are really unlucky

they go to an estate sell.....

it's like the circle of life.

In all seriousness listen to your mom, don't fear the reaper.

I remember seeing a guy on TV once who claimed that spirits of the deceased spoke through him. He sat down in this chair and sort of fell asleep. And then all of a sudden he quickly sat up straight and he started talking in another voice. It was supposedly a dead Indian speaking through this guy's body. Anyway, this Indian claimed to have had different lives. And he said that now, he existed purely as energy.

I really didn't buy it. I think that guy just had a multiple personality disorder. :?

Well, there are certain pieces of the puzzle missing in the sense that I don't have all the facts regarding life, death, the universe etc. But I do have some pieces of the puzzle. And by putting those together, I, for myself, can see that certain things fit into the missing parts and others don't.

So that's why I think that after death it's just like before you were born. I just think that's what is most likely.

I believe that as well. But I think what is likely, is that you're not aware of you're own existence after death. You're only aware of yourself whilst you're incarnated. It would be strange to me if Earth was a starting point, in a sense. I think that if your conscienceness is eternal, then it has most likely been around longer than your time here on Earth. So I don't exclude the possibility of reincarnation.

May sound a bit strange, but it's what I think.

I am 20 now, and when i was your age, for reasons i don't know and still can't explain the same question just arose to me. It was as if i'd spent everyday of my life since then blistfully unaware of my surroundings and what exactly i was experiencing. 6 years later, i am not much older and little more wise. I have learned many things and have lived many stories. However, there are some mysteries i will may never solve and you have to accept that life and death, are those that will remain shrouded in silence. Thinking that i didn't know only gave me depression. Along with some of the medication i was given, i was beginning to lose my mind. MY best advice to you is to remain sane, keep your way and dignity. If you should ever think of this again, try to remember why you live and how you intend to live. Set some goals, reach for the sky. Treat each day as is your last, taste it like a fine glass of lemonade, sip down every last drop. If you can dedicate your life to something whether it be music, work, travelling, women, friends and so on you will always feel fulfilled and you will never worry about death.

I've been there, and i am sure i am not the only one. Today you just grew ten years older in your mind. Congratulations. Now do what your peers can't do right now, savor your life and make it worth something ;).

I gotta throw this out there...
I believe in Jesus, im sure most of you dont. I dont think less of you if you dont.

I would love if you did have a personal relationship with Him tho.

Its just what I believe.
That took guts man. ;) I believe in Jesus too. It's been an awsome life since I gave my life to Him.

Good question. Asked that one my self when I was 17 years old. I did some searching and prayer and found there was more evidence supporting Jesus and Him dying for us so we can have an eternal relationship with him. I hope you do your research because it's a very important question. Here's a great book to read that explains why the Bible and Jesus Christ are true: "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. I recomend that book because it's not fluffy and full of bashing blah blah. Easy reading straight forward information. His followup book, "The Case For Faith" is good too. With all the beliefs out there these books explain why it is that the Bible and Jesus are true. Hope that helps man.

Nobody knows what happens when we die. Religion was created to try to answer that and many other questions.

I personally think after you die, you live in a pie-filled world (O.k. maybe I don't believe that, but that would be awesome if it happened).

Lol here is a funny McDonalds commercial I saw in Israel, its kind of connected to the subject.

What? Santa Claus doesn't exist???

I think that people can believe what they want to believe. If you want to believe in God/some other religious entity, so be it. I don't appreciate the people on here trying to push it on others though. That's not what this forum is for.

We can discuss this topic without pushing beliefs on one another.

My son was conceived the same year my Grandfather passed away. we gave my son my Grandfathers name as his middle name. I believe that I see glimmers of my Grandfather in my son.

So I guess I believe that some of our consciousness can pass on after the grave to others, maybe in our own families, maybe not. That's what I like to believe.

Funny you say that.
My Grandmother passed away and the same time 1 year later our son was born.
There was a bit of a coincidence there that I always thought about.

Aside from that, I've been having the same questions in my head for a while, and sadly I'm no closer to answering that question than when I was ignorant on the matter.
I like a lot of the beliefs out there, but the thing that bugs me the most, is the over zealous people telling you how you should worship, etc. Having no supreme being in the equation answers a LOT of questions.
Why is there war? Why wouldn't there be?
Why is there famine? Why not?
How could this terrible thing happen to someone so young?
Easy, if there is really no one watching over us or no one to say unequivocally that things we do are right or wrong. I'm not pointing the finger at any one religious group, every culture has them. The zealot who knows his/ her way is the only way.
No one knows, it's all based upon a feeling you get.
I would love to know how things will end up, and ultimately, I guess I'll find out.
My Grandfather told me this, and sometimes the thought just wakes me up out of a deep sleep, with impending doom on my mind, "None of us are getting out of this alive."

Kind of like riding that roller coaster, the one you were having 2nd thoughts about, but now you're on it. Buy the ticket, take the ride. You're going up, up, up, eventually you're going down, can't stop it.
*Shrug*
Enjoy life, share your time with those you love, share your self and your knowledge, and hope you leave things better than you found them. Religion aside, we'll all find out one way or another.
