Paul Gilbert is insane :mrgreen: I like him a lot even though he's playing at high speed. I feel more relaxed listening to him than Yngwie... Whenever I listen to Yngwie his music is like disrupting my soul ... :roll:

It's called unleashing the fookin fury But I agree, Yng gets old QUICK! He needs to change things up a but from run to run. Gilbert is much more versitle, but then again, this is about SPEED, not versitlilty

This (for me personally) is the toughest poll I have ever voted on, lol. I like both of them, and they are my favourite guitarists, but........even though its a difficult poll to choose on......I still vote for Yngwie!

You can hear his notes better because you've got every PGM known to man and you know what you're listening to. Hehe just messing with you a little bit. :wink:

It is hard to compare them because Yngwie plays fast all the time and paul is very versatile in a sense that he can make an axe weep like a dog or shred like paper. It's a tough decision. I would have to go with Yngwie on speed but paul definitely has more versatility.

Yngwie blows his sweeps and attitude bore me. I vote Gilbert hes cleaner and more melodic.

 

I can't bring myself to vote!? The one thing I admire about Yngwie is he hasn't changed a bit. The leather-type spandex and all the gold chains circa 1985 Trilogy album. It's kinda funny.

 

I wonder how much the brand of guitar matters in this. We're on an ibanez forum and we wonder why gilbert is winning? I would like to test the waters and post this same poll on a fender prone forum. It would be interesting.
